Subject, the purpose of studying the discipline

The subject of the discipline "Veterinary Pharmacology" is the changes that occur in the organs and systems of the body under the influence of drugs, the conversion of drugs in the body, the relationship between chemical structure, physicochemical properties and pharmacological action of drugs, and the use of drugs for treating patients and for prophylactic purposes. One of the important tasks of pharmacologists is to create new, highly effective drugs based on products of chemical and semi-chemical synthesis, raw materials of natural origin (plants, tissues, animal organs, minerals, products of microorganisms, and fungi) based on genetic engineering technologies, as well as studying the mechanisms of their action with the subsequent introduction into medical practice

The purpose of studying the course "Veterinary Pharmacology" aims to prepare theoretical prerequisites for mastering the practical application of drugs in veterinary medicine, depending on the pharmacodynamics and biotransformation of drugs in animals of different species and features of the pathogenesis of the disease.
