Pathological  anatomy  is  a  fundamental  biological  science  that  studies the structural foundations of pathological processes and animal diseases. Pathological anatomy (along with athophysiology) is an integral part of pathology - a science that studies the patterns of occurrence and development of diseases, individual pathological processes and conditions.
Pathological anatomy studies the morphological manifestations of pathological processes at different levels (organ, tissue, cell and subcellular). Also widely used is the  data  obtained  from  the experimental  modeling  of  pathological  processes  in animals.
